How to list equipment in under 3 minutes

1

Photograph the machine

Both sides, the hour meter, the tires, the hitch and the engine bay. Clear photos of wear cost you nothing and stop tire-kickers early.

2

Give make, model, year and hours

Add recent repairs, attachments included, and anything that needs fixing. Buyers pay more for a machine whose history is written down.

3

Answer buyer messages

Buyers message you inside the app, so your number stays private. You arrange the inspection, the payment and the haul.

Auction, dealer trade-in, or BarnBridge?

Consignment auction. One sale day, one price — minus the commission, and whatever the weather and the crowd do to the bidding. See what the sale barn takes.

Dealer trade-in. Easy, but you take wholesale money for a machine that would bring retail from a neighbor.

BarnBridge. Your listing stays searchable until it sells, you set the price, and the buyer comes to you. Free to post. Want the auction format instead? Seller fee 4% ($75 minimum). Buyer premium 5% ($75 minimum). Both capped at $2,500. Never more. No subscription required to start an auction.

Fee examples. $1,000 lot → seller $75 / buyer $75. $20,000 lot → seller $800 / buyer $1,000. $80,000 lot → both sides $2,500 (cap applies).

Selling equipment: common questions

Is it free to list farm equipment?

Yes. Fixed-price equipment listings are free to post and stay up until you mark them sold. Featured placement is optional.

What equipment can I sell?

Tractors, skid steers, balers, mowers, tillage, planters, trailers, livestock handling equipment, feeders, fencing and shop tools. Livestock goes on the same account.

Do I need an account to post?

No. You can post from your phone and confirm with an email link — the account is created for you from that email.

Do buyers need an account to see my listing?

No. Anyone can browse your photos, price and location without signing in. Buyers only create an account to message you, which keeps your phone number off the public page.

How does payment work?

Directly between you and the buyer. BarnBridge does not process equipment payments or hold funds — it is an advertising venue, so you settle up in person on terms you agree to.

What should I put in the listing?

Make, model, year, hours, recent work and any known issue. Photos of the hour meter, tires, hydraulics and the engine bay answer most buyer questions before they're asked.
