How the BarnBridge livestock & farm equipment marketplace works

BarnBridge is a nationwide, owner-to-owner marketplace for buying and selling livestock and used farm equipment. Farms, ranches, homesteaders and equipment owners post directly to buyers with no dealer in the middle, no broker taking a cut and no account required just to look around. Every listing you see on the board was put up by the person who actually owns the animal or the machine, so you can ask your questions, see the real photos and set up the pickup yourself.

Livestock listings are free with 0% commission

Posting cattle, horses, goats, sheep, hogs, poultry, hay and feed on BarnBridge costs nothing, and we take 0% commission when the animal sells. There is no listing fee, no renewal fee and no percentage of the sale price. Buyers and sellers arrange payment and hauling between themselves the same way they would at a county sale barn, and BarnBridge never holds the money. Sellers can list a single bred heifer or a full load of feeders, mark a listing sold when the deal is done, and repost any time without paying anything. See what the sale barn takes.

Used farm equipment, tractors, trailers and implements

The equipment marketplace covers tractors, skid steers, hay and forage machinery, tillage, planters, livestock trailers, grain handling, fencing supplies and shop tools. Fixed-price equipment listings are also free to post. Because sellers are farmers and equipment owners rather than dealerships, prices reflect real working machines with honest hour meters and honest descriptions. Every machine on BarnBridge is sold as-is, where-is, with all faults.

Online farm equipment auctions with low, capped fees

Owners who would rather let the market set the price can run a timed online auction instead. Bidding runs on a countdown clock with proxy bidding, so you set your top number once and the system bids for you up to that amount. Seller fee 4% ($75 minimum). Buyer premium 5% ($75 minimum). Both capped at $2,500. Never more. No subscription required to start an auction. Traditional sale barns often take 3–4% in commission plus yardage and fees — over $120 on a single bred cow — with no cap at all, which is the single biggest reason owners move their iron online. Sellers may also upload their own inspector's paperwork before a lot goes live so bidders can see exactly what was checked. BarnBridge does not inspect equipment.

Buying and selling near you, anywhere in the country

Search by state, by county, by city or by distance from your own place so you only see stock and machinery you can realistically go look at. State and metro pages collect what is for sale near you along with local market information, hauling distances and the paperwork each state expects, including health papers, brand inspection and bills of sale for livestock crossing state lines. If nothing on the board fits, post a Wanted / ISO ad and let sellers come to you.

Tools, prices and guides for farmers and ranchers

Alongside the board, BarnBridge publishes daily cattle market prices, a cattle value calculator that estimates market value from current weight, breed and age, breeding stock valuation guidance, and plain-language guides on selling livestock online, hauling animals, negotiating equipment prices and avoiding common marketplace scams. Buyers can save searches and get told when something new matches. Sellers can see how many people viewed and saved a listing so they know whether a price needs to move.

Browsing is always free and never requires an account. You only need to sign up when you want to post a listing, message a seller or bid on an auction lot.
