What is my Case IH tractor worth?
Case IH is the red side of row-crop country. Farmall utility tractors and Maxxum/Magnum row-crop machines both have deep, steady used demand.

What Case IH tractors bring used
Typical asking ranges for sound machines. Hours, a loader, a cab and where you are standing move every one of these.
How Case IH holds value
Case IH values track Deere closely in the Corn Belt and fall a little behind it in the South and West where dealer coverage is thinner. Dealer proximity moves the number more for red than for green.
Farmall utility tractors are the used volume sellers. Loader-equipped Farmall C and U models move quickly on cattle and hay operations.
Magnum and Steiger machines are priced mostly on hours and powershift/CVT condition. A high-hour Magnum with documented transmission work sells better than a low-hour one with no records.
What this estimate cannot see
- Dealer distance. Buyers pay more when parts and service are close by.
- Service records. A folder of receipts is worth real money to a cautious buyer.
- Photos. Clean pictures from all four sides regularly add more than any option on the machine.
- Timing. Tractors sell best ahead of hay season and planting. The same machine brings less in the wrong month.
Common questions
- Put the horsepower, model year, hours and condition into the calculator on this page and it returns two ranges: what to ask selling it privately, and what it would likely bring at auction. Then type your exact model into the comparables box to check it against what machines like yours ask on the wider market.

- Hours only matter against age. A tractor puts on roughly 200 hours a year, so a 10-year-old machine with 2,000 hours is average. Half that adds value; double it takes value off — usually 15 to 25 percent at the extremes.
- A standard equipment listing is free. Equipment auctions carry a 4% seller fee ($75 minimum) and a 5% buyer premium ($75 minimum), both capped at $2,500, and no subscription is required to start one.
