What is my Massey Ferguson tractor worth?
Massey Ferguson has a long tail of working tractors in hay and cattle country, from the 200-series classics up through the current 4700 and 5700 utility lines.

What Massey Ferguson tractors bring used
Typical asking ranges for sound machines. Hours, a loader, a cab and where you are standing move every one of these.
How Massey Ferguson holds value
Massey generally asks 8 to 15 percent under Deere for the same horsepower and hours. Buyers know it, so a Massey priced like a Deere sits.
The utility 4700 and 5700 series are the used movers. A factory loader and a cab together can add a third to the value of a bare machine.
The old 135, 165 and 240 tractors are still working every day on small places. Those price on running condition and tires rather than hours, and a straight one holds a firm floor.
What this estimate cannot see
- Dealer distance. Buyers pay more when parts and service are close by.
- Service records. A folder of receipts is worth real money to a cautious buyer.
- Photos. Clean pictures from all four sides regularly add more than any option on the machine.
- Timing. Tractors sell best ahead of hay season and planting. The same machine brings less in the wrong month.
Common questions
- Put the horsepower, model year, hours and condition into the calculator on this page and it returns two ranges: what to ask selling it privately, and what it would likely bring at auction. Then type your exact model into the comparables box to check it against what machines like yours ask on the wider market.

- Hours only matter against age. A tractor puts on roughly 200 hours a year, so a 10-year-old machine with 2,000 hours is average. Half that adds value; double it takes value off — usually 15 to 25 percent at the extremes.
- A standard equipment listing is free. Equipment auctions carry a 4% seller fee ($75 minimum) and a 5% buyer premium ($75 minimum), both capped at $2,500, and no subscription is required to start one.
