Livestock Transaction Disclaimer & User Responsibilities

Effective date: September 1, 2026

Livestock sales arranged through MyBarnBridge.com are strictly peer-to-peer. This notice sets out exactly what each side is responsible for and what MyBarnBridge.com does not do.

1. Read This Before You Buy or Sell an Animal

MyBarnBridge.com is a listing venue only. Every livestock sale arranged through this Site is strictly between the listing user (seller) and the buying user. MyBarnBridge.com is not a party to that sale, is not your agent or broker, takes no title, ownership, or possession of any animal, and never handles, escrows, or facilitates the money.

Livestock listings on MyBarnBridge.com are free. The only paid livestock feature is an optional Featured Listing, which buys promotional placement and nothing else. Equipment listings and equipment auctions are fee-based, and those fees likewise buy platform access — never any responsibility for the underlying sale.

2. Every Animal Is Sold As-Is, Where-Is

MyBarnBridge.com makes no warranty or representation about the health, soundness, disease status, temperament, fertility, pregnancy, pedigree, registration, age, breed, sex, weight, quality, suitability, title, or condition of any animal. We do not inspect, test, verify, transport, or care for animals. Photos, videos, and descriptions are supplied by the seller and are not verified by us.

3. Seller Responsibilities

  • Own the animal, or have written authority from the owner to sell it, and be able to convey clear title free of undisclosed liens.
  • Describe the animal truthfully and completely — including age, breed, sex, weight, breeding status, known disease exposure, test results, vaccination and treatment history, medications and withdrawal times, injuries, lameness, and vices.
  • Never conceal a positive test, quarantine or hold order, disease exposure, injury, dangerous behavior, or lien.
  • Obtain and provide any required Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), Coggins/EIA or other testing, official identification and tags, brand inspection, and permits before movement.
  • Provide a written bill of sale, verify payment before releasing animals, and never release stock against an unverified check or a screenshot of a pending payment.
  • Hold all licenses and registrations your state requires of you as a seller, and pay any applicable taxes.

4. Buyer Responsibilities

  • Independently verify the animal, the seller, and the paperwork before sending any money.
  • Arrange your own pre-purchase veterinary examination and any testing you need — do not rely on the seller's veterinarian alone.
  • Confirm ownership, registration papers, and that title is clear.
  • Know and satisfy your own state's entry, permit, testing, identification, and quarantine requirements before the animal moves.
  • Arrange lawful, humane transport and confirm the hauler's insurance and credentials.
  • Use traceable payment made directly to the registered owner, and get a written bill of sale.
  • Quarantine new arrivals and follow sound biosecurity practices at home.

5. Legal Compliance Is Entirely Yours

Users are solely responsible for compliance with all federal, state, tribal, and local animal health, movement, identification, brand, welfare, and sales laws — including USDA APHIS interstate movement rules, state entry permits and import requirements, CVIs, required testing, official ID, brand inspection, and tax obligations. Requirements vary by state and species and change over time. Confirm current rules with your licensed veterinarian or your state department of agriculture.

6. Fraud, Disease, Loss, and Disputes

MyBarnBridge.com is not responsible or liable for disease transmission, contagion, herd loss, quarantine, injury, death of animals, misrepresentation, fraud, nonpayment, transport losses, title defects, financial loss, or any dispute arising from a listing or transaction. Disputes are between the users involved. You release MyBarnBridge.com from all such claims and agree to indemnify it as set out in the Terms of Service.

Report a suspicious listing, suspected fraud, or an undisclosed health issue to [Contact Email]. We may remove listings, suspend accounts, and refuse service at any time, and we may cooperate with law enforcement and animal health authorities.

7. Recommended Practice

  • Talk on the phone or by video before money moves; see the animal in person or send someone you trust.
  • Get a pre-purchase veterinary exam and current health paperwork in hand.
  • Put price, deposit terms, hauling, dates, and any guarantee in a written bill of sale signed by both parties.
  • Use traceable payment; be wary of overpayment refunds, wire requests to third parties, and pressure to decide today.
